It’s hard to believe that we’re halfway through the school year! It seems like the perfect opportunity to say thank you. We’ve been working diligently to implement the new gifted standards while creating a new curriculum with rigorous and engaging lessons, activities, and projects. Unlike the general education teachers, we are provided with next to nothing from the District. We create all of our lesson plans from scratch. It is a daunting amount of work, especially when you consider that we have over 20 hours a week to fill with original content across six different grade levels; while still managing to comply with the laws and regulations regarding special education programs. The transition over the last year and a half has not been easy. A successful gifted program requires tons of assistance from our parents and our parents have supported us every step of the way. If we have ever needed anything, you guys have been more than willing to help us out. I know we don’t say it enough, but thank you for all that you do! You are our biggest advocates and we sincerely appreciate your support.
