Fifth Grade Learns About History at Kingsley Plantation


The State of Florida has a very long and very rich history. Below are some photographs that clearly illustrate what we were able to see firsthand today.

This photo was taken sometime in the 1800s. It shows an African American family standing next to the former slave cabins that we toured.

This is Esther Bartley. She was a former slave who lived her entire life on the plantation. This photo is from the early 20th Century, long after she was granted her freedom in 1865.
